„Magfed is Family“ from the point of view of Rakarth, one of the team leaders of Defcon III and contact person for Magfedisfamiliy in Southern Germany:
„Some players and teams play exclusively within 100 km of their home with the same people all the time and are happy, which is perfectly fine.
But some players and teams travel very far to spend the weekends playing paintball together with friendly players and teams across borders. And since the version of magfed paintball we favor has a rather small community, there’s a good chance we’ll meet up more often.
Our team, Defcon III, is from southern Germany and in recent months/years has been to events in France in a 16th century citadel or 19th century fortress, in Wales at a British military training ground, in England at an old airport, in Greece on a small island, in Poland in a very large forest area, but also often at various fields in the Czech Republic and in Germany. It is wonderful to make new contacts through this sport, in part all over the world, and we have been able to get to know and appreciate many very nice people as a result. Many friendships have developed from this and this enriches the hobby many times over. For example, after Operation Tyrant in Greece, we sat on our boat with guests from Greece, Uk and Hawaii and enjoyed the sunset together. „
„At some events we are directly involved in the organization and it is not the easier way, but we deliberately try to mix nationalities.Linguistically, this is often a challenge, but in the end it leads to more collaboration. One of my foreign exchange is also : If you can’t celebrate peacefully and in friendship with the players of the opposing team in the evening after a hard and intense game, something has gone pretty wrong. „
„That’s also where the idea of MagfedisFamily comes in, because there, too, exactly this good cooperation and a close cohesion of players, teams and nations is to be promoted without restriction to a specific area. We see ourselves here as a complementary option and not as competition to already existing local groups. Some of these groups are even active with us themselves. For example the Austrian Magfed Network or Magfed Poland. We currently have about 35 contacts in 25 nations worldwide and work in a common chat to promote our sport. And one of them is me. We have a unified logo and use this in the form of patches and banners for the players and teams who are also enthusiastic about this idea. We put the proceeds from the sales directly back into various Magfedisfamily actions, because the whole project is meant to be a non profit organization.
If you are interested and have any questions, please feel free to contact the contact persons and myself. „
